Joey-Ann Alexander is an ANCC board-certified family and psychiatric nurse practitioner trained in the medication management of various medical and psychiatric illnesses.
The beginning of her journey as a nurse practitioner was primarily in medical treatment as a family nurse practitioner. This is where she encountered the profound realities of mental illness especially in underserved communities. Witnessing the depth of need and the resilience of those struggling with mental health challenges sparked a profound curiosity that propelled her to delve deeper into psychiatric care. This led her to pursue further education as a psychiatric nurse practitioner through the University of Miami.
With over a decade of experience working in the healthcare industry, her background includes practical knowledge working in hospitals, community mental health centers, various levels of care in addiction treatment centers and adult primary care practices.
She prides herself in establishing therapeutic patient relationships, patient health advocacy and providing quality, whole person care.
